As the school year comes to a close, we would like to invite you to continue your membership with Brock Italian Club this upcoming fall. With a new executive team, we would love to encourage your continuing support and participation! To help get us organized, we would like to know who would like to remain part of the club. Deadline extended!

The deadline for BIC's trip to the opera has been extended to Tuesday, February 12th! Make sure you sign up soon spaces will fill up fast! $22 a ticket!!

Celebration of Nations

Date: Thursday, March 7, 2013

Time: 11:00am-2:00pm

Location: Pond Inlet, Brock University

Details: Celebration of Nations is an event which highlights Brock’s true multicultural diversity. BIC will be joining many other cultures who will be showcasing their traditions in a market like atmosphere. There will be table exhibits with colourful displays, food and music performances that you don’t want to miss! Come check us out!

BIC is looking for anyone who would like to showcase a talent of theirs (dance, musical performance, etc.), traditional dresswear, or even if you would like to provide some Italian food for the event :) Sample sizes work best! email brockitalianclub@gmail.com if you are interested!!

Italian Film Night at Club Roma

Come out and enjoy Giuseppe Tornatore's psychological thriller, La Sconosciuta (The Unknown Woman) with Brock Italian Club! View the trailer here! The film will be in Italian with English subtitles.

We have many events coming up where we will be needing some members to help out & volunteer their time!

Frost Week:
Tuesday, January 8th from 11am-1pm Brock Italian Club will be hosting a table in Isaac's where we will be providing information about the club, accepting new members, and promoting events!

Coming Up:
Thursday, January 17th from 11am-2pm we will be hosting a table in MCA block! Volunteers needed! There will be a 50/50 draw!

Italian Potluck! Brock Italian Club will be hosting a potluck on Thursday, January 24th from 1pm-3pm! Please bring an Italian dish to the club room MCA 222! There will also be a 50/50 draw to help support the club & raise money for upcoming events! So be sure to stop by, try some great food, and enter the chance to win some extra cash!! On Saturday, February 16th @ 4:30pm we will be going to the Canadian Opera Company to watch the amazing opera performance, La clemenza di Tito! For a full synopsis, please check out their website!

This event is on a first come first serve basis, so please sign up & pay your fee directly to Brock Italian Club Executive before the deadline in order to ensure your spot! Transportation will not be provided, but if you are interested in travelling by group on the Go Train, please contact brockitalianclub@gmail.com and arrangements can be made.

Studia a Roma, Assisi, Siena e Firenze!

For everyone interested, there is a great opportunity being offered at Brock this year! The course Reading the Italian Medieval and Renaissance City (ITAL/VISA/MARS 3M50) is being offered this summer.

The course will begin at Brock in May during the Spring Evening session, then continue with a two-week study tour in Italy to the cities of Rome, Assisi, Florence, and Siena. 

The travel package is all-inclusive and worry-free with return flights, private coach transportation, 3-star hotels, breakfast and dinner!

If you are interested, please attend an Information Meeting on Tuesday, December 4th from 3pm-4pm in Plaza 410! There is a maximum of 24 students to be enrolled in the course so it's being offered on a first-come, first-served basis!
